What To Do With Your Domain?

So you got a domain, or hundreds of domains (like me). What should you do with them? Here are some things I do.

1. Park Them (For Short & Sweet Domains)

As soon as I buy a domain, I park it with GoDaddy. Why GoDaddy? Because I like being simple and I'm used to GoDaddy. And based on my experience, GoDaddy gave me the most return compared to Sedo and Uniregistry. Also, GoDaddy CashParking® features a nice "Buy Now" sign on parked pages, giving visitors a chance to buy my domains without my attention.

2. Sell Them

Based on my personal experience, I sold most domains for profit on GoDaddy.
Note for selling on GoDaddy. Following TLDs cannot be listed to premium domains on GoDaddy: .biz | .info| .tv

3. Blog Them (For Long But Keyword-Rich Domains)

What do I mean by blogging my domain? I don't consider this as a making a fully developed blog. Instead, I consider blogging a domain as doing my own domain parking. So, how do I do this?

First, I create a blog through Blogger. Why? Because it is free, super easy, it is ran by Google (I'm guessing a service offered by Google will last a long time), and it is super easy to integrate Google AdSense.

Next, I link my domain to the blog.

Third, I load content. On Blogger, you won't be able to display Google AdSense ads on your blog unless you have some content on there. Based on my experience, one or two good 500 - 1,000 words articles usually do the trick. I usually order these articles on iWriter unless the domain is about something I'm really interested in.

Now you're created your own parked domain. I do this for long keyword-rich domains which would never attract visitors who randomly type the domain, but would easily rank on Google due to its keyword-rich nature.

4.  Develop Them (For Domains that Inspire Your Passion)

I once to try to develop all of my domains. If I could develop all of my 200+ domains, good for me. But it didn't work well. Like most things you do in life, focus is everything. So instead, I parked or blogged most of my domains, and developed (keep on developing) only a handful of domains in niches that I'm really passionate about, or have great business potential. For these domains, I do intense keyword research and regularly post new articles, written by myself or outsourced on iWriter.

For developed domains I would incorporate affiliate links and even to paid advertisement.

Have Some Fun

Domaining is to make money. But have fun while you're at it. Don't stress over some domains that don't make you any money, or (most of the times) make you lose money. I sometimes buy some domains for fun, just so I can say that hey, I have a domain called ClaraRockmore.com (You know that Theramin player who was once featured on Google logo?). Or I have a domain for personal blog which is listed for $99,999.00 on GoDaddy. (Yes you're right. I don't want to sell it).

So be cool and have some fun domaining. If you keep on doing it while having fun, you'll be making $100k while doing something you love!
